Students at IBS have the advantage of developing a cross-functional knowledge base, with good synthesis of Indian and International perspectives.
Case-based learning is an important component of business education at IBS. Most of the courses are taught through real-life cases, designed to help bridge the gap between management theory and practice.
IBS includes business modeling and simulation games in its curriculum for the program, to give students an introduction to business decision making.
IBS has a strong, active and growing interface with business and industry, with experts from a range of leading companies delivering regular guest lectures and serving as members of various advisory boards.
The program offers students an opportunity for continuous learning, so that their knowledge and skills remain current and relevant.
The learning methodology adopted provides them the desire and the ability to seek, comprehend and internalise knowledge on a continuing basis, even after they complete the program.
IBS believes in student-centered learning. IBS uses learning outcomes which focus attention on explicit and detailed statements of what students learn: the skills, understanding and abilities students seek to develop in them and then test. IBS then uses rubrics to assess the learning.
Rubrics are tools to assist in the measurement process. Rubrics define the various levels of each of the components of learning in a measurable way. Rubrics assist both the student and the faculty to clearly identify the level to which the outcome has been achieved. IBS uses rubrics for assessing the soft skills and summer internships for its management programs.
The students with excellent performance in the program are awarded medals, certificates and cash awards.
The Gold Medal will be awarded to the first rank holder of each campus. This award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
The Silver Medal will be awarded to the second rank holder of each campus. This award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
Awarded to the second rank holder on an all-India basis. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 with Bidri work plaque and a certificate.
These awards are given annually to the top 1% of summer internships undertaken at each IBS campus. The award carries a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
