At IBS® Chennai, emphasis is laid on the need to balance a student’s life within the class and out of the class. IBS® Chennai creates and maintain a conducive environment to utilize the student’s energy for diverse extra-curricular and co-curricular activities which take place round the year. The Students Council comprising duly elected student representatives plays an active role in coordinating with the academic and administration functions of the institute. A faculty member is designated the responsibility of coordinating all student activities.

Glimpses, an in-house newsletter wholly managed by the students, is published quarterly providing an opportunity for students to display their creative talents. Coliseum, the branded signature all India management meet conducted by students of IBS® Chennai, attracts talented management students from all over India and is ranked among the top b-school meets in the country. Marketrix (Marketing Seminar), Third Eye (IT Seminar), and an HR Seminar are some of the other annual events organized by the students with sponsorship and support from the industry. Chiara, another event, is fast becoming another popular brand of IBS® Chennai, where the students get an opportunity to showcase their multifaceted cultural personalities.

Students are encouraged to form informal groups and clubs based on their areas of interest, and to share information, exchange ideas and interact with the industry. Finance, marketing and HR clubs regularly organize guest lectures, workshops and competitions within the institute.

IBS® Chennai students regularly represent the institute at most of the local/national level meets and have brought many laurels, including winning coveted competitions like the All India TATA Crucible Quiz, AIMA-INFOSYS-SMG, CII Management, and MMA and ET all India business plan contests.

Students enjoy an annual trekking expedition to the sylvan hilly terrains of Yelagiri to build their stamina, handle stress and recharge their spirits, a welcome break from the rigorous academic schedule.

IBS® Chennai also encourages its students to participate in various indoor and outdoor games. Apart from these, under the banner Kartavya, they take part in various social activities like blood donation or lending a helping hand to the orphanages in Chennai.
