IBS®
Mumbai was set up in 1995 and later moved to its current
premises located in the sylvan, serene and scenic campus
at Nirlon Complex, Goregaon (E). It covers a total area of
more than 35,000 sq ft. IBS® Mumbai occupies two
independent two-storey buildings, complete with two
computer labs, a library and language lab, air-conditioned
classrooms equipped with audio visual equipment, an
auditorium and an on-campus canteen.
The
two-year full-time program at IBS® Mumbai is designed to
provide students exposure to the concepts, policies and
techniques for the effective and efficient management of
businesses of global organizations. The school offers the
students a choice of specialization in Finance, Marketing,
Information Technology & Systems, Insurance, Human
Resource Management, Investment, Operations Management,
Banking, Accounting and Control, Entrepreneurship and
International Business. IBS® Mumbai has an abiding
dedication to the all-round development of the individual.

The
IBS® Mumbai faculty plays a significant role in
ensuring quality education through interactive
teaching, continuous multiple criteria evaluation
and feedback to students. The faculty bring their
extensive knowledge, business experience and
advanced education to their task. They are active in
research, provide consultancy to business
enterprises and remain current with the swiftly
changing business environment. IBS® Mumbai today has
34 highly qualified core faculty members on its
rolls. Twelve of them have Ph.D degrees. In
addition, the IBS® Mumbai gets assistance from about
50 visiting faculty members, all experienced
industry professionals and consultants.
The
focus at IBS® Mumbai is on learning and not just
teaching. Hence, the classrooms have been designated
as Learning Halls. The school lays a great deal of
emphasis on interactive, hands-on learning through
cases and live projects.
Information
Resources Center
The
library has an extensive collection of over 16,000 books
related to various aspects of Business Management, Finance
and Banking, Economics, Marketing and Human Resource
Management. Communication and Soft Skills is another area
well represented in the collection. A good collection of
classics in literature by authors such as Shakespeare,
Charles Dickens, and Jane Austen is included to cultivate
the reading habit among students and improve their language
skills. In addition to this, several titles on self
development and general interest are added to the collection
on a regular basis. The library also stocks the in-house
publications and a carefully selected collection of
reference material.
The
library subscribes to 110 print periodicals including
Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review,
Journal of Marketing, ASTD T+D, and CIO among others. In
addition to these, more than 60 periodicals published by the
Icfai University Press on diverse subjects are received in
the library and made available to the users.
Newspapers
including the Financial Times supply information on the
world of business and current affairs.
In
the audio/visual collection section, the library has more
than 1,000 CDs, and a select collection of audio and video
cassettes.
Realizing
the importance of electronic resources, the library provides
access to several online databases such as Business Source
Complete (EBSCO), Reuters Business Insight, Emerald, and
Science Direct. These provide access to thousands of
articles from several reputed journals and other sources.
Computer
Lab
The
computer lab is equipped with the latest hardware and
software which are constantly upgraded in keeping with the
changes in technology and industry requirements. The
computer lab has more than 110 terminals fully equipped with
the latest Red Hat Linux and Windows NT and XP workstations.
Auditorium
A
150 seater auditorium, equipped with the latest audio visual
equipment is used for guest lectures, student seminars,
placement activities etc.
Board
Room
An
exquisitely designed board room is frequently used for
faculty seminars, advisory board meetings and lectures by
eminent personalities from the field of academics and
industry.
Canteen
Nirlon
Complex has a canteen where the students can have their
meals and snacks. Apart from this, a small canteen outlet is
available on the campus specifically for IBS® Mumbai
students.

Personality
Development and Soft Skills |
The
Soft Skills Lab, especially designed keeping in mind the
overall development needed for students, focuses on language
skills, correctness of language and etiquette for corporate
interactions.
The
idea behind setting up the lab was to help those students
who wish to improve their language skills. The paralanguage
factors of pronunciation, volume, rate, pitch and
enunciation which are important for clear speech and
communication are given special emphasis.
