What it is like to be in IBS?

The IBS programs are designed keeping in mind the all-round growth of students. Life at IBS is a mix of academic rigor, fun, exploration and experimental learning. There are ample opportunities for growth through participation in extracurricular activities.

Here is what a Typical Day in the Life of an IBS Student looks like

7:45 am

(Alarm ringing) Snooze!

7:50 am

(Alarm ringing) Snooze!

8:00 am

(Alarm Ringing) Switch off phone and go back to sleep.

8:15 am

Neighbor knocking on door, time to get up.

8:20 am

Wake up grumbling to self, time to freshen up.

8:45 am

Ready and hungry, time for breakfast.

8:50 am

Grab coffee and food, acknowledge sleepy
faces across the mess hall.

9:10 am

Done with breakfast, time for classes!

9:20 am

Enter class, display nameplate.
Time for discussions!

The gap between each class is spent reading the case/text book or catching up on much needed sleep.
4:40 pm

Staring at the clock, waiting for the last class to end.

4:45 pm

Storm out of academic block as quickly as possible.

5:00 pm

Back in hostel room and thoroughly exhausted.

5:30 pm

Talking with friends, vehemently discussing the day’s events.

6:00 pm

Go to mess for snacks and acknowledge many tired faces.

7:00 pm

Relax in room/ prepare for the next day.

9:00 pm

Go to mess for dinner. Acknowledge
many hungry faces.

10:00 pm

Back in hostel, fool around with friends.

11:30 pm

Set alarm for next day and fall asleep.

They are subject to change according to the level of involvement exhibited by the student in various arenas, mainly:

  • Clubs: Advertising, sports, economics, operations, photography, finance etc.,
  • Fests: Trishna, Aaveg, Freshers & Farewell.
  • Events: Seminars, discussions, quizzes and club-hosted events.
  • And of course - EXAMS.

Considering the frequency at which these events unfold at IBS, it’s hard to find many ‘typical’ days. The course along with the aforementioned events ensures a lifestyle which teaches every student the importance of time management and prioritisation - the end result being the transformation of students into highly capable professionals, ready to take on the challenges of the real/corporate world.
